The fiery burger features a secret sauce made from two of the world&#8217;s hottest chillies, the Naga Bhut Jolokia, also known as the Ghost Chilli and the Scotch Bonnet.<\/p>\n<p>Registering at an estimated 1million units on the Scoville Scale, the burger is up to 40 times hotter than original Tabasco sauce. And if the burger&#8217;s heat wasn&#8217;t challenging enough for diners, it&#8217;s a belly-buster too with 18oz of minced beef a further 18oz of cheese, sandwiched between two deep fried pizza slices and served with a triple portion of chilli fries.<\/p>\n<p>The fiery feast was created by Martin Bunce and James Reilly, owners of Atomic Burger in Bristol who are challenging diners to finish the burger in under an hour as part of their unique Fallout Challenge. Those who complete the \u00a325 burger win a t-shirt and their name on the restaurant&#8217;s wall-of-flame.<\/p>\n<p>Martin Bunce, co-owner of Atomic Burger said the burger had proved a hit with diners who were keen to take on the challenge. He said: &#8220;We did a four-week special of the Fallout Challenge, but after the special came to an end we had so many people asking to do it, it ended up becoming a permanent fixture on our menu. &#8220;The sauce in the burger contains a variety of chillies including the Ghost Chilli and the Scotch Bonnet. But what gives the sauce a real kick is the Ghost Chilli extract which registers at 4.2 million scoville units. &#8220;What makes our challenge different is it&#8217;s not just ridiculously hot but it&#8217;s big too. &#8220;I&#8217;m quite a chilli head, I enjoy extreme heat but even I only managed about a quarter of the burger. &#8220;Around 500 people have tried it and only 10% have managed to complete it. We&#8217;ve had a variety of reactions some people take one bite and refuse to eat any more, whereas others can&#8217;t get enough of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One diner who was daring enough to take on the Fallout challenge was Jess James Farmer, 23. Mechanical Engineer, Jess took on the challenge at Atomic Burger on Sunday but despite considering himself a lover of spicy food, he was unable to finish the burger. Jess said he often enjoys a Vindaloo on a Saturday night and is known for competing in various Man Vs Food challenges with his friends, but the Atomic Fallout was just too tough. He added: &#8220;It&#8217;s definitely the hottest thing I&#8217;ve ever eaten and certainly not for the faint hearted. &#8220;It&#8217;s a constant burn, the heat intensifies with every mouthful, each bite is like an inferno in your mouth. &#8220;Even the chips are hot, covered in chilli flakes and spices but compared to the burger the chips are a relief. &#8220;It is ridiculously hot but it&#8217;s still tasty, the heat doesn&#8217;t ruin the other flavours in the burger. &#8220;A few of my friends tasted a tiny bit of the sauce and they just couldn&#8217;t believe how I was even eating it. &#8220;I&#8217;m a big fan of spicy food, I&#8217;ll always be the first to order a vindaloo but the burger was a lot hotter, I don&#8217;t think I could brave it again.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the Atomic Fallout &#8211; A burger so hot, diners need to prove they&#8217;re over 18, sign a disclaimer and wear protective gloves before they can even take a bite.
