Crown Prince Frederik: Who is Denmark’s Soon-To-Be King?

Queen Margrethe II surprised Danes when she announced her abdication on New Year’s Eve.

She revealed that her son, Crown Prince Frederik, will become king when she steps down on January 14th.

The prince will not have a televised formal Coronation and instead Frederik’s accession will be announced from Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen on the day.
